Veterinary Technician - Urgent CareThrive Round Rock: 603 Louis Henna Blvd b190, Round Rock, TX 78664
Quick Overview:
- Part-time: 2 shifts/week
- Schedule: 12:55pm-9:15pm (possible change to 9:55am-8:15pm)
- Minimum: 1 Saturday/month required

About You
You’re a calm, capable Veterinary Technician who thrives in a fast-paced Urgent Care setting-supporting patient flow, procedures, and compassionate care from intake through discharge.
Your Experience & Skills
- Veterinary technician licensure preferred, not required
- 1-2 years of clinical experience required. Emergency or Urgent Care experience preferred
- Must have surgical and anesthesia experience
Role Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients.
- Assist the medical team with urgent care patient flow, including triage support, timely case handoffs, and efficient treatment support.
- Assist with surgeries and procedures, including anesthesia monitoring and recovery, in accordance with your state's Veterinary Practice Act outlined for credentialed veterinary technicians.
- Communicate with clients about individualized animal health concerns, urgent care treatment plans, medications, and additional treatments (including Thrive Membership options when appropriate).
- Obtain relevant health history and information from clients and maintain timely, accurate medical records/medical charts with the support of practice systems.
- Monitor patients for changes in condition and communicate updates promptly to the DVM/team.
- Use safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and sustain clean, sterile, organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs.
- Be willing to guide, mentor, and support fellow team members.
