Description
Maine Veterinary Medical Center is looking for a compassionate and motivated Surgery Clinical Supervisor to help lead our surgery department. In a setting where every moment matters, this role is key to supporting both patients and the people caring for them. You'll work closely with hospital leadership to create a strong, collaborative environment where your team feels supported and empowered to deliver exceptional care. This is a full-time, day shift position.Maine Veterinary Medical Center (MVMC) is a VECCS level two certified Rarebreed practice that has full in-house laboratory capabilities, a fluoroscopy suite for interventional procedures, a GE 64-slice CT, MRI, respiratory ventilator, in-house telemetric monitoring, ultrasound and endoscopy. MVMC is a multi-specialty hospital offering services in Emergency & Critical Care, Neurology, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Oncology, Cardiology, Ophthalmology, Radiology, and Rehabilitation & Sports Medicine. Veterinary Technician - Surgery
Maine Veterinary Medical Center in Scarborough, ME
$32.00-$40.00 per hour based on experience
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Team Leadership:
- Lead and support technical staff through daily guidance, coaching, and feedback
- Partner on hiring, onboarding, and performance management
- Foster a collaborative, accountable team environment
Workflow & Operations:
- Oversee daily workflow, staffing, and patient flow
- Delegate responsibilities to support efficient, high-quality care
- Identify and improve processes to enhance team efficiency
Patient Care:
- Ensure consistent, high-quality nursing care across the department
- Support treatments, procedures, and diagnostics as needed
- Maintain accurate and complete medical records
Client Experience:
- Support a smooth, professional client experience
- Guide team interactions and assist with resolving concerns
Operations & Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to hospital policies and regulatory standards
- Communicate updates and expectations clearly to the team
Training & Development:
- Lead onboarding and ongoing training
- Support team growth and skill development

- Ensure compliance with safety and infection control protocols

REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years of veterinary hospital experience
- Previous leadership, training, or supervisory experience preferred
- Strong communication and client service skills
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Able to lift 50 pounds
- Credentialed candidates (LVT, CVT, or RVT) are strongly desired for this role
