Company Overview

Antigo Veterinary Clinic is a privately owned, non-corporate practice in the heart of beautiful Northern Wisconsin.
We practice big-city medicine with a Fear Free approach, in a small town setting. Dr. Sarah Lautzenhiser purchased the practice in 2009, and implemented many updates including ultrasound, digital radiology and dental radiography, ultrasound, laser therapy, chiropractic care, critical care, endoscopy and wellness plans.
Our purpose is to give people the knowledge they need to keep their pets healthy and happy.
Our core values:
We treat our clients with respect, compassion and empathy.
We are honest with our clients and each other.
We are continually seeking to advance our knowledge and skills, so that we may offer more to our clients and companion animals.
We value effective, transparent communication between ourselves, clients and staff.
We believe in helping clients make the best decisions for the care of their pets within their means.

Company History

Antigo Veterinary Clinic started out in 1980 as a mixed animal practice. Back then, the large animal part of the practice was the breadwinner. Over time, the need for large animal veterinary services in the area dwindled and the small animal practice grew. In 2009, Dr. Sarah Lautzenhiser, a class of 2000 UW-Madison SVM alum, purchased the practice and began to make changes to make her vision of excellence in veterinary care come true.
Along with adding new equipment including in-clinic laboratory, digital radiology and dental imaging, ultrasound, endoscopy, therapy laser, chiropractic care, physical therapy and massage, Dr. Sarah implemented new medical and surgical protocols and standards of care, staff meetings and feedback, and opportunity for employee growth and development.
The next step for Antigo Veterinary Clinic is the remodelling of the rear half of the building, scheduled for summer of 2019, which will transform the former large animal part of the clinic into new hospitalization ward, isolation ward, grieving room, grooming suite and boarding kennels.
Several of our staff are Fear-Free Certified and new staff are in the process of learning Fear Free methods.
