Description
The Swan Hill Veterinary Clinic is a 5 veterinarian mixed practice on the beautiful Murray River. It is located around 3.5hrs north-west of Melbourne. The clinic is purpose built, very well equipped for small and large animal work. The clinic contains an indoor equine crush adapted for dentistry also. Indoor and outdoor stables, cattle yards and crush. There is a small animal surgery room, 2 wet prep tables, digital x-ray, endoscope, in house blood machines and ultrasound for all species.
The majority of cases are small animal (80%), the remainder being horse, cattle and sheep. The successful applicant will end up with capabilities across all species, we will support you to achieve all your veterinary goals.
Salary is well above award, new graduates are encouraged to apply. We have employed many new graduates previously and understand the challenges associated with our wonderful profession. We have a large amount of experience in both the veterinary and nursing fields.
We have CVE practice membership. A work car will be provided. After hours is quiet and shared equally.

Requirements
The successful candidate must have a good sense of humour to join our happy workplace. We require a professional and empathetic approach. Teamwork, good communication and sense of fun are vital.
The Swan Hill Veterinary Clinic services around an 80km radius. We perform a wide variety of surgical and medical procedures across all species. There is minimal travel involved with this position. If you have a keen interest in a particular species or facet of veterinary science we will do our utmost to foster that desire. There is ample time to do thorough case work ups as we prefer to over staff and enjoy life at the Swan Hill Veterinary Clinic.
Afterhours is 1 in 5 weekends with an RDO following the weekend on call.
Swan Hill has a population of 12,000 people, the township services a population of around 20,000 people. Swan Hill offers a lovely and pleasant lifestyle with all sporting and recreational activities covered. There are many great cafes and restaurants. A large art gallery and vibrant night life.
