Description
Veterinary Technician
We are seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Veterinary Technician to join our supportive and collaborative medical team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on patient care, teamwork, and building strong relationships with both clients and coworkers.
Role Overview
In this position, you will work closely with our veterinarians and medical team to support high-quality patient care, maintain efficient patient flow, and help create a positive experience for pets and their families.
Key Responsibilities
- Support veterinarians in delivering quality medical, surgical, and dental care
- Assist with surgeries, dentals, anesthesia monitoring, and recovery
- Monitor and assess patient status before, during, and after procedures
- Collect blood and other samples for diagnostic testing
- Place intravenous catheters and administer fluids and treatments
- Run in-house lab work and obtain digital radiographs
- Prepare patients for surgery and assist throughout procedures
- Maintain clean, organized, and sterile exam rooms, treatment areas, and labs
- Use safe and effective animal handling and restraint techniques
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive medical records in accordance with hospital protocols
- Collect patient histories and update medical charts
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients regarding pet health, medications, treatment plans, and home care instructions
- Prepare treatment estimates and discuss financial commitments with clients
- Stock treatment and exam areas and notify inventory management when supplies need replenishment
- Care for surgical instruments and ensure the operating room is properly stocked and prepared
- Assist with general office visits and daily hospital flow
- Provide mentorship, guidance, and support to fellow team members
- Deliver compassionate care to patients and their families at all times
Schedule
- Four-day work week
- No nights or weekends
