PetCure Oncology is looking for a Radiation Oncology Veterinary Technician to join our team as part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare community.

About You
As a Radiation Oncology Veterinary Technician, you'll play an important role in pets' lives by providing comprehensive care throughout their journey.
Experience & Skills Requirements:
- * Veterinary technician licensure (CVT, LVT, RVT) - An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree from an AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program preferred (not required)
* 2+ years of direct patient care experience in a veterinary setting
* Equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
* Advanced venipuncture skills
* Advanced knowledge of anesthesia protocols, intubation, and monitoring for canines and felines
* Initiative to learn the ends and outs of veterinary oncology
Role Responsibilities:
- * Must have and demonstrated excellent communications skills including delivering outstanding customer service, dealing directly with clients and referring veterinarians either face to face or over the telephone on a daily basis. In addition, you must be a kind, empathetic, compassionate person who is able to deal in an appropriate manner with very sensitive issues and concerns of our oncology clientele. You are good at establishing and maintaining a supportive health service relationship with the oncology clientele and able to provide long-term care for their pet.
* Being an effective, positive and approachable team player in your interaction with other in-house team members including cardiology, internal medicine, radiology, surgery, ophthalmology, emergency, dentistry, dermatology, facility employees, and all other teams is necessary.
* Have a special desire and interest in helping to develop a strong oncology service for our clients and referring veterinarians. A willingness to learn about oncology from the consultation of a patient, providing chemotherapy, understanding different types of cancers and why a particular therapy is used on a patient and potential side effects of medications, chemotherapy, radiation, and radioactive iodine treatments.
* Must be highly organized, have initiative to start and finish requests from clients, referring veterinarians, team members, and your oncologist.
* Must be skilled at patient restraint, placing IV catheters, intubation, anesthesia monitoring, jugular blood draws, taking diagnostic radiographs, and excel at general technician duties.
* You must be detailed orientated and able to learn various software systems.
