Description
PetMedic Urgent Care Vet Clinic is looking to add a compassionate and skilled Veterinary Technician to our team.At PetMedic, you can help shape the exciting new world of veterinary urgent care. Our fast-paced environment means you'll do something different every day, but with more regularity and stability than an emergency setting. As part of our team, you'll work with the latest technology, stay ahead using educational training, and partner with experienced doctors to deliver the highest quality of care to the pet patients we all love.
Veterinary Technician
PetMedic in Portsmouth, NH
Sign on Bonus up to $1500
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Provide compassionate care to pet patients and their loved ones
- Keep accurate medical records in accordance with hospital policy
- Perform physical assessments and record your observations
- Explain necessary follow-up and home care instructions
- Assist the Veterinarian in procedures (be comfortable with blood draws; prepare patients for surgery; administer anesthesia; monitor patients during surgery and recovery; administer fluids)
- Comfortable taking radiographs, small animal restraint, triage, monitor anesthesia
- Obtain laboratory sample collection, process and interpret results (fecal/parasite analysis, ear cytology, skin cytology, urinalysis, blood smears)
- Ability to multi-task and adapt in a fast-paced environment
- Able to commit to evening shifts and one weekend day
- Must have a positive attitude and be a team player
- Diagnostics (Radiographs, ECG, Blood Pressure, Venipuncture)
- Placing IV Catheters

REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Veterinary Technician Certification (CVT) or License (LVT) required
- Minimum 3 years' experience
