We are entering an exciting new time at Eastern Animal Hospital. Dr. Kaufman has stepped down, creating the need to grow our team. We are adding to our GP team, and we'd love to talk with you!
Our AHAA Accredited facility is designed to handle a wide range of caseload needs. Our team is dedicated to providing comprehensive medical, surgical, dental, and preventive care in a welcoming and supportive environment. With a focus on client education and personalized treatment plans, we strive to build lasting relationships with both our patients and their owners. We have a complete in-house lab, and all digital radiographs. We also offer AI assisted dictation tools to help you move through your cases efficiently and reduce record keeping time. Eastern Animal Hospital has a high-tech to doctor ratio including our CVTs!
We have a new Mindray Vetus E7 Ultrasound, endoscopy and laparoscopy for advanced imaging, minimally invasive procedures and diagnostic capabilities.
We have a busy urgent care department and overnight staff for hospitalized patients.
We are a 12-doctor practice, and we welcome doctors with all experience levels. Our hospital provides a 3-6 month Mentorship Program tailored for those just starting out. We are looking forward to inviting you into our supportive and collaborative practice!

Essential Responsibilities:
- Examine and treat companion animals to detect and determine the nature of disease or injuries.
- Operate diagnostic equipment and collect diagnostic samples as well as interpret results.
- Advise pet owners on preventative care and treatment options.
- Perform surgery and prescribe medication as needed.
- Provide counsel around pet end of life care.
- Maintain patients’ medical records.
- Ensures compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statues, policies, and procedures.
Requirements:
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an accredited AVMA institution.
- Appropriate state licensure.
- Eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrates professional and courteous presentation consistently with staff and clients.
- Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance.
