We are a community-centered small animal veterinary practice located in a close-knit town where relationships, compassion, and quality care come first. As a clinic affiliated with a nonprofit animal rescue, we offer a unique opportunity to combine excellent clinical practice with meaningful involvement in rescue and rehabilitation work.
Position Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Associate Veterinarian who values community engagement, high-quality medicine, and lifelong learning. This role is ideal for a veterinarian who enjoys building strong client relationships, practicing thoughtful medicine, and contributing to animal welfare initiatives beyond the exam room.
Our hospital is well-equipped to support thorough diagnostics and modern care, including hand held ultrasound, dental radiography, telemedicine capabilities.
This position offers a predictable schedule with no after-hours emergencies and no weekend shifts, supporting a healthy work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive medical, surgical, and preventive care for small animals
Deliver compassionate, client-focused communication and education
Collaborate with local animal control and animal welfare partners to support community animal health
Participate in the care, treatment, and rehabilitation of rescue animals through our nonprofit partnership
Maintain accurate and thorough medical records
Work collaboratively with a supportive veterinary and support staff team
Uphold high standards of medical care and ethical practice

Requirements
Education & Licensing
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or Veterinary Medical Doctor (VMD) degree from an accredited institution
- Active (or eligible for) state veterinary license
- DEA license (or ability to obtain)
Clinical Experience
- Experience in small animal practice is welcomed; confident new graduates are encouraged to apply
- Comfort with wellness exams, preventive care, and client education
- Familiarity with:
- Annual exams and vaccination protocols
- Diagnostic testing and interpretation
- Dental health assessments
- Nutritional counseling
- A plus, but not required:
- Performing routine soft-tissue surgeries (e.g., spay/neuter, mass removals)
- Dental procedures including prophylaxis and extractions (We are happy to support continued skill development in these areas.)
