Our practice specializes in surgery and rehabilitation. VTS will provide leadership and education for veterinary staff while being a part of the day-to-day team. Applicant must have demonstrated ability to build positive, professional relationships with clients and staff members. VTS in the area of anesthesia is a required skill. Additionally, emergency and critical care experience is a plus. Use of proper medical terminology and the ability to perform tasks accurately and timely with minimal direction, and have demonstrated the ability to provide constructive, positive leadership to help others develop their skills. are needed for this position.

Requirements
Candidate must be a licensed veterinary technician with VTS credentials in anesthesia. Top communication skills both internal and external are key. The ability to multi-task and maintain thoroughness in the timely preparation of medical records is an important administrative skill.
Medical and Teamwork skills required:
Medical Skills:
- VTS certification in Anesthesia
- Consistently use proper technique for accurately calculating medicine dosages and administering medications including anesthetic drugs.
- Consistently demonstrate proper care and technique in the placement of IV catheters.
- Familiar with surgery prep procedures and induction of surgery patients.
- Has knowledge of specialized nursing care for surgical patients
- Ability to place bandages, splints and slings
- Consistently demonstrate the use of sterile techniques for surgery and can effectively assist in surgery.
- Consistently demonstrate the ability to work with surgical monitoring equipment and anesthesia equipment
- Demonstrated ability to train others.
- Demonstrated ability to provide positive leadership to team members at many levels of experience.
- Is knowledgeable of most surgery procedures and the associated discharge instructions.
Teamwork:
- Consistently work cohesively with entire staff
- Professionally communicate with clients, referring DVMs, VRSP Doctors, and staff members.
- Handle stress and pressure with poise and tact.
