Description
Experienced Veterinary Nurse - Regional Lifestyle & Supportive Team Environment
Maryborough Veterinary Surgery, Fraser Coast, QLD
Picture This: Your New Veterinary Life
You walk into a clinic where the morning huddle includes genuine check-ins about how everyone's feeling—not just what cases are on the schedule. You work alongside a close-knit team of 10 passionate professionals who genuinely have each other's backs, even when a challenging euthanasia case tests everyone's emotions.
At Maryborough Veterinary Surgery, you'll find yourself part of something special—a locally owned practice where modern equipment meets old-fashioned teamwork, and where your professional growth matters as much as the patients you'll treat.
A Day in Your New Life
Step into the fast-paced, heartwarming world of a Veterinary Nurse, where no two days are ever the same — and every day, you make a difference.
From the moment you walk through the clinic doors, you’re not just clocking in — you're stepping into a day filled with compassion, teamwork, and purpose. In your medical role, you start by checking on your overnight patients, greeted with wagging tails and sleepy purrs, knowing your care made them more comfortable through the night. You join in on hospital rounds and work together to help the recovery.
As a surgical nurse, you assist in prepping for surgery — monitoring anaesthesia, ensuring sterile conditions, and standing side by side with our vets during life-changing procedures. One moment you’re comforting a nervous pet parent before their dog's dental cleaning, and the next you’re gently wrapping a bandage on a rescued kitten’s paw.
Throughout the day, you triage emergencies, administer medications, assist with taking x-rays, drawing blood, and educate owners on post-op care. But beyond the technical skills, you are the calm in the chaos, the gentle hand during stressful times, and the reassuring voice when clients need it most.
By the end of the day, you’ve helped save lives, eased pain, and brought peace of mind. You’re covered in fur, a little tired, but fulfilled in ways most jobs can’t offer.
If you crave a career with heart, impact, and the chance to grow every single day — this is your calling.
What Makes Us Different
Our Team Chemistry: When we say "supportive team," we mean it. Our team of nurses and veterinarians don't just work alongside each other—they actively share knowledge and ensure no one faces a challenging case alone. It's the kind of environment where asking questions is encouraged, not just tolerated.
Your Professional Growth: Whether you're keen to develop your surgery knowledge, dive deeper dietetics, behaviour, dentistry or explore areas that spark your curiosity, we're genuinely invested in your development. Our senior nurses and veterinarians believe in mentorship, not just supervision.
Work-Life Balance That's Real: Our on-call rotation system means you can plan your life outside the clinic. When you're off, you're truly off—no guilt, no constant interruptions, just the freedom to enjoy everything the Fraser Coast has to offer.
Timeless Values: You'll work in an environment that values compassion, teamwork, and community connection.
The Community You'll Serve
