Equine Veterinarian and Farm Manager 2 positions
I am 71 years old and discover that it is time that I step back. Are you a young veterinarian and feel that you would like to be a farmer and not a full-time vet? Are you married to a farm manager and would like an equine veterinary position? We have two positions that may suit.
Farm Manager Role
I am advertising for a farm manager who has the following attributes:
- Knowledge of farming systems and operations especially sheep, cattle and pasture management, including some regenerative practices
- Skill in stock handling, machinery use and maintenance, fencing, and building.
- Capacity to organise your own and others work plans with annual program development and implementation
- Desire to settle down and run properties with an aim to become financially involved with our business over time
- Able to prepare and deliver reports
- Capacity to run two properties, 3000 composite ewes and 120cows with another farm worker.
- Wants to live in and run some of the most reliable farming country in Australia
- Likes/loves horses and dogs
- Great person who becomes a friend of our family and be part of our local community.
- Package that includes 2 bedroom and study house rent free at Wallendbeen with horse paddock, phone, internet, meat, use of vehicle and a salary of $90,000 and $120,000

Equine Veterinarian
Our practice is an equine veterinary practice servicing clients in the South West Slopes around Cootamundra, Young and Harden. We have 4-5 veterinarians. We are well equipped with each car having ultrasound, radiography and dental equipment. We do a significant amount of yearling sales radiography and endoscopy. We have a position for someone who is:
- Interested in lameness with skills in radiography and ultrasonography
- Interested in thoroughbred sales radiography and ultrasonography
- Capable of doing equine anaesthetics – we have access to surgical facility and work with a local equine surgeon
- Interested in doing some stud work – we serve several large stud clients
- Is interested in becoming financially involved with the practice
- Wants to work with colleagues and with great supportive nurses
- Salary of $90,000 to $120,000 pa depending on experience
