Granite Veterinary Emergency, Trauma & Specialty (Granite VETS) is a family-owned, veterinarian-owned 24/7 emergency and specialty referral center located in beautiful Bedford, New Hampshire. Granite VETS grew from a shared vision between Dr. Brett Casna, DACVS-SA and Dr. Chelsea Casna. After spending a decade experiencing corporate, privately-owned and academic veterinary hospital environments, we spent the last 3 years meticulously defining our vision and designing our facility with one simple goal: provide employees a facility to treat your patients, clients, coworkers and yourselves better.
Our mission is to build and maintain an environment that fosters teamwork, growth, personal health and the passion for exceptional patient care that draws one to veterinary medicine.
We're seeking residency-trained and board-certified ECC and emergency doctors to apply for either full-time (twelve 10-hour shifts per month); part-time (minimum 80 hours/month); or per diem shifts.

The Facility
Many hospitals like to advertise “state-of-the-art”, but at Granite VETS we utilized years of experience in numerous hospitals, new and old, and a design team specializing in human facilities to truly design a cutting-edge building. From the custom Nora flooring, easy clean stainless-steel cabinetry, and spacious, flexible space throughout to the elegant lobby fireplace, extensive workspace options, and the roof top employee patio with beautiful city and mountain views and plenty of sunshine, we designed the hospital to comfort the patients, clients and the employees equally.
Beyond the structural components we equipped this hospital with the newest and best technology available. Although not an exhaustive list, a few of the major highlights: brand-new 64 slice Siemens Go.Up CT, 1.5T Siemens MRI, every single type of scoping equipment, full-array of in-house diagnostics, and all the critical care equipment you can think of. The Location
New Hampshire is undoubtedly one of the United States’ best kept secrets. It has consistently ranked in the top 5 states to live in for public and private schools, safety, health, economy, and quality of life. Most recently it was ranked 2025 Best States to Raise a Family by Consumer Affairs and was just named the United Health Foundation’s Healthiest State for the fourth year in a row. The beautiful four seasons and accessibility to a variety of activities for all ages and all interests are what make it so special. Whether you’re an avid outdoors enthusiast, a history buff, or a diehard foodie there’s something for everyone.
Granite VETS is conveniently located in Bedford, an upscale town of roughly 25,000 people with the best schools in the state (although most all the schools are top ranked in the nation). The hospital is minutes away from the major interstate 93 which allows easy access to the mountains, seacoast, lakes region, and city life from the direct adjacent city of Manchester or a short 50-minute drive into downtown Boston, Mass. The hospital is just minutes from Manchester Airport, which is a great, clean, easy in, easy out airport served by most major airlines to many major US hubs. If you’re thinking the winter may be too much for 4 months and you want to do some snow-birding to the beaches in the southeast there’s amazingly affordable direct flights to Florida and the Carolinas.
Whether you love to have an upscale apartment or condo or you’re looking to homestead on a large piece of property you can find what you’re looking for within 20-30 minutes of the hospital with ease.
