The Emergency Veterinary Clinic of Tualatin (EVCOT) is seeking a full-time Associate Veterinarian to join our team.
For more than 30 years, EVCOT has been a trusted emergency hospital serving patients from the Portland metro area to the Oregon Coast. We are privately owned by a currently practicing emergency veterinarian and are known for stable leadership, low staff turnover, strong staff loyalty, and a collaborative team culture.

Schedule
Full-time veterinarians work 12 shifts per month in months with 30 days or fewer and 13 shifts per month in months with 31 days.
Doctors average 3 shifts per week and are not scheduled more than 3 consecutive days in a row unless requested. Full-time staff veterinarians average 4 to 8 overnight shifts per month.

5:00 p.m.–3:00 a.m.
7:00 p.m.–8:00 a.m.
Saturday, Sunday, and observed holidays
8:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m.
10:00 a.m.–10:00 p.m.
3:00 p.m.–3:00 a.m.
7:00 p.m.–8:00 a.m.
Additional shifts beyond the regular schedule are paid as bonuses. Part-time positions and set schedules may also be accommodated when compatible with current scheduling needs.
Hospital and Team
Our veterinarians are supported by a full on-site laboratory, fully equipped surgical suite, endoscopy, digital radiology, ultrasound, and highly trained support staff. Our team includes 10 full-time veterinarians, 6 part-time veterinarians, certified veterinary technicians, veterinary assistants, and kennel staff. We also partner with Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging and Cytology (VDIC), with a radiology team on site and diagnostic ultrasounds available 6 days a week.
Mentorship and Clinical Opportunities
EVCOT offers a highly collaborative environment. With the exception of overnights, there is always another experienced doctor on staff for consultation and support. Overnight doctors also have access to phone consultation with the owner, who can often come in if needed. Surgical and endoscopy mentorship are available, and onboarding is tailored to the doctor’s experience level.
Common emergency procedures include:
pyometra surgery
foreign body surgery
splenectomy
emergency cesarean section
cystotomy
GDV repair
wound repair
Professional Support
EVCOT pays for Oregon licensure, membership dues to AVMA or VECCS, and membership dues to OVMA or PVMA. We also pay for one major conference every other year, including registration, travel, and hotel accommodations. Additional CE support may be available upon request. Sign-on bonuses, relocation assistance, and ongoing tuition support are negotiable.
Qualifications
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree required. Veterinary license in good standing, or eligibility for licensure in Oregon. Two years of clinical experience required, or successful completion of an accredited internship. Emergency experience strongly preferred, though mentorship is available for the right candidate.
